Anime enthusiasts across the UAE have reason to celebrate — Animenia Abu Dhabi is making a grand return to the capital from 11 to 15 February 2026. Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the highly anticipated second edition will transform Manarat Al Saadiyat into a vibrant celebration of anime, gaming, and Japanese pop culture.

This year’s festival promises to be a larger-than-life experience, capturing the pulse of Neo-Tokyo through dazzling recreations, interactive exhibits, and an expanded lineup of entertainment. From fan-favourite series and retro classics to glowing neon streets and themed shops, visitors can expect to step straight into the animated worlds they love — all without leaving Abu Dhabi.

Adding to the excitement, Animenia will once again host its spectacular cosplay competition, offering a jaw-dropping AED 400,000 prize pool. Contestants from around the world will battle it out in solo and group categories, with awards for Best in Craftsmanship, Best in Performance, and the coveted Animenia Spark Award.

The festival will also feature a packed entertainment lineup with J-Pop concerts, Anisong performances, and appearances by popular voice actors and artists. Fans can explore exclusive anime merchandise, limited-edition collectibles, and themed retail zones before indulging in an array of Japanese street food and desserts.

After a successful debut, Animenia Abu Dhabi 2026 is set to cement its place as one of the region’s most dynamic fan festivals — bringing the magic, music, and creativity of anime culture to life like never before.
