Epson Middle East has appointed Gulf Commercial Group – Digital Document Solutions (GCG-DDS), as a distributor for its business inkjet printers. As per the agreement, GCG-DDS, the leading provider of innovative digital document solutions in the Middle East, will add Epson’s environmentally friendly and cost-effective EcoTank printers, SureColor large-format printers and WorkForce mono and color version inkjet printers, to its product portfolio.
The agreement was signed by Jeroen van Beem, director of sales, Epson MEA; and Naser Darwazeh, general manager, GCG-DDS; in the presence of Neil Colquhoun, vice president of Epson CISMEA and Pro Displays; and Niels Bormans, CEO Aban Investment,GCG-DDS’ holding company. Jeroen van Beem said: “As businesses and consumers in the region increasingly prefer inkjet technology over laser, it is important for us to grow our channel partner network to meet the increasing demand for our printing technology. GCG-DDS, with almost four decades of experience in digital imaging and office services solutions, is well known for its quality standards, after-sales and technical support. We are proud to partner with GCG-DDS to deliver eco-friendly inkjet printing solutions to businesses to help lower office printing costs and boost productivity. As there is a strong focus on sustainability within the region, with the UAE leading the way with its ambitious target to reduce carbon footprint by 70% by 2050, we believe more organisations will make the switch to inkjet technology.”
Epson reinvented office printing with its PrecisionCore print head technology that delivers printing at high speed. Today, the company offers one of the fastest inkjet printing technologies in the world. As Epson’s inkjet printers do not use heat in the printing process, they consume up to 85% less energy than comparable laser printers, which means offices can save a considerable amount on utility bills. “Inkjet is the future of printing, and Epson is the market leader in this sector. Our partnership with Epson will help us to offer the best inkjet technology in the world to our customers,” says Naser Darwazeh, General Manager, GCG-DDS.
He added: “Educational institutions, businesses, and government organisations in this region are keen on adopting green printing technology that consumes less energy, reduces total cost and provides high-speed printing, without compromising on quality. As Epson inkjet printers produce up to 85% less carbon dioxide than those of comparable laser printers, provide lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and come with fewer components that need replacing, we believe our clients will readily embrace Epson’s offerings.”
GCG-DDS is confident that the agreement with Epson will enhance its business. Combined with pre- and post-sales support, well-stocked inventory, and an experienced team, GCG-DDS looks forward to a long-term partnership with Epson. Niels Bormans, CEO of Aban Investment (Ghobash Group Operating Companies), GCG-DDS’ holding company, says: “In the interests of sustainable relationships, our operating companies always strive to ensure our partnership opportunities are mutually beneficial. While we look forward to this exciting opportunity to meet our market’s ever-changing needs, we are also delighted that we can offer Epson Middle East the confidence of our well-established infrastructure and market access.”
