TCA stated that according to the latest IDC research report (*1), the expenditure on global blockchain application solutions in 2018 will be as high as USD 2.1 billion, more than double the USD 945 million of 2017. In 2021, this number is expected to exceed USD 9.7 Billion in 2021. The CAGR from 2016 to 2021 was calculated to be 81.2%. IDC also pointed out that companies believe that with blockchain and decentralized ledger technologies; they can accelerate the transformation of their businesses and operations and improve their operating efficiency.
By utilizing blockchain, companies hope to be able to prevent security breaches, data leaks, and other forms of cybercrime. At the same time, blockchain is noted to be able to do much more than just record keeping or utilized in the form of cryptocurrency.
