In a swift and coordinated operation, Fujairah Police have arrested a gang accused of stealing from bank customers, following a well-planned robbery that took place earlier this week. The suspects, who were later found to be wanted in another emirate, were apprehended within just three hours of the crime being reported.
The incident occurred on October 23, when a woman approached Fujairah Police to report a theft of AED 195,000. According to the victim, the criminals had used a deceptive tactic — one suspect approached her vehicle, claiming one of her tyres was flat. As she stepped out to check, another member of the group discreetly opened the opposite door and grabbed a bag containing the large sum of money before fleeing the scene.
Police immediately launched an investigation, analysing surveillance footage and tracking the suspects’ movements. Within hours, officers identified the gang members and confirmed they were also wanted for similar offences in another emirate. Acting swiftly, Fujairah Police coordinated with Sharjah Police to locate and detain the individuals involved. The suspects were handed over to the appropriate legal authorities for further investigation and prosecution.
Officials praised the rapid response of law enforcement teams and emphasised the importance of public awareness in preventing such crimes. Residents are urged to remain vigilant near banks and ATMs, avoid carrying large amounts of cash, and report any suspicious activity immediately.
Police reiterated their commitment to maintaining community safety, warning that anyone attempting to exploit or deceive bank customers will be pursued and prosecuted without delay.
