TP-Link has announced Archer AX90, an AX6600 Tri-Band WiFi 6 Router featuring robust WiFi 6 features, a powerful quad-core Broadcom CPU, and the brand new HomeShield security system, delivering more value to the high-end router category. Eying at customer concerns concerning privacy and cybersecurity, TP-Link partnered with Avira to arm Archer AX90 with the latest HomeShield security system and guard clients, including IoT devices, from all cyberattacks. Whether it’s a phone, laptop, TV box, or a smart home camera, the new HomeShield protects them all and schedules a daily scan to identify weak points in your network to prevent emerging threats.
Archer AX90 comes with 8-Stream WiFi 6 with OFDMA, 1024-QAM, a faster symbol rate, and TWT, all of which provide faster speed, broader coverage, higher capacity, and better power saving on clients. Archer AX90 also encapsulates 4×4 MU-MIMO and high-end WiFi 6 features HT160, enabling multiple clients to reach up to 4.8 Gbps WiFi speed. It supports simultaneous transmissions with lower latency thanks to OFDMA integration, keeping multiple 8K streams as smooth as possible.
Archer AX90 offers three asymmetrical WiFi 6 bands—4804 Mbps (5 GHz) + 1201 Mbps (5 GHz) + 600 Mbps (2.4 GHz)—to boost signal directions, broaden coverage, clear out congestions, and reduce interference. As different bands work on separate channels, tri-band routers form more signal beams at the same time without creating interference. The different bandwidths for each band make Archer AX90 more affordable than other high-end WiFi 6 routers, while still meeting most home’s needs such as 5 GHz WiFi connections for demanding devices like gaming consoles and working laptops or requiring ample capacity for other clients including legacy devices and IoT.
One 2.5 Gbps port, multiple Gigabit ports, and dual USB ports are offered by Archer AX90, providing the most versatile connectivity for this powerful network hub. The function of the 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN port and Gigabit WAN/LAN port can be easily tweaked in the intuitive management panel. Whether it’s used to connect a high-speed network over 1 Gbps or set as the gateway for a 2.5 Gbps NAS, Archer AX90 is dedicated to our customers needing this new generation of WiFi. Two USB ports add a practical tool for our customers to easily store and share across the home network. Furthermore, with built-in VPN server functions, our customers can securely access the files from outside.
