This dangerous practice of following vehicles too closely significantly increases the risk of sudden collisions and multi-vehicle pileups, despite repeated warnings from authorities.
Recent announcements from Dubai Police have reinforced the critical importance of maintaining safe distances between vehicles. Tailgating occurs when drivers follow preceding vehicles without leaving adequate stopping distance, creating dangerous situations where sudden braking can lead to catastrophic consequences.
