Sony has introduced the WF-1000XM6 truly wireless earbuds, the latest model in its 1000X series. The new earbuds feature upgraded noise cancellation, improved audio processing, enhanced call clarity, and a redesigned fit compared to the previous WF-1000XM5 model.

The WF-1000XM6 uses Sony’s HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3e along with the Integrated Processor V2. The earbuds now include four microphones per unit, up from three in the previous generation, enabling improved noise reduction, particularly in mid-to-high frequency ranges commonly encountered in daily environments.

Sony states that noise cancellation performance has improved by approximately 25% compared to the WF-1000XM5. The system adjusts in real time based on external noise and earbud fit, and also compensates for sound leakage between ear tips and the ear canal. The earbuds ship with four sizes of Noise Isolation Earbud Tips.

Audio performance is supported by 32-bit processing, an upgraded DAC amplifier, and a newly developed driver unit with a redesigned diaphragm aimed at reducing distortion and improving clarity across bass and high frequencies. The earbuds support Hi-Res Audio Wireless, DSEE Extreme upscaling, 360 Reality Audio, head tracking, and a 10-band equalizer through the Sony Sound Connect app.

For voice calls, the WF-1000XM6 features two microphones and a bone conduction sensor on each side, combined with an AI-based beamforming algorithm designed to isolate the user’s voice in noisy environments.

The earbuds have been redesigned for comfort, with an approximately 11% slimmer body than the previous model. A new ventilation structure is intended to reduce internal noise such as footsteps or chewing sounds. The charging case has also been refined for easier one-handed opening.

Connectivity has been updated with enhanced antennas that Sony says are 1.5 times larger than those in the previous model. The WF-1000XM6 supports LE Audio for lower latency use cases, including gaming. Battery life is rated at up to eight hours per charge, with up to 24 hours total including the charging case. The case supports Qi wireless charging.

Sony also announced a new Sand Pink color option for the WH-1000XM6 over-ear headphones. The WF-1000XM6 will be available in Black and Platinum Silver. Both the WF-1000XM6 earbuds and the WH-1000XM6 in Sand Pink will be available in the UAE from March 4, 2026.
