CommScope has introduced its PON Evo suite—a comprehensive range of passive optical network (PON) active optical line terminal (OLT) products. Developed through a strategic partnership with Altice Labs, a prominent R&D company specializing in advanced telecommunications technologies, this suite represents a significant advancement in managed network transition strategies.
The PON Evo suite, along with CommScope’s vBNG Evo solution, enables seamless network evolution under a unified architecture. CommScope is incorporating Altice Labs’ advanced OLTs, software-defined network (SDN) management tools, and operational and business support systems into its portfolio, strengthening its capabilities.
“By combining our existing virtual broadband network gateway (vBNG) and remote OLT solutions with Altice Labs’ technologies, we are now positioned to deliver a comprehensive and competitive FTTH portfolio giving our customers a single-source partner,” stated Guy Sucharczuk, SVP and president, Access Network Solutions, CommScope. “This expanded ecosystem is designed to meet the evolving needs of our customers as they deploy next-generation FTTH networks. In the context of declining average revenue per user (ARPU), the integrated solutions support smooth migration from GPON to XGS-PON and even 50G PON, all on the same infrastructure. With Altice Labs’ innovative dual-density XGS-PON SFP and dual XGS-PON SFP+ solutions, PON port density is significantly enhanced, offering operators greater efficiency and scalability.
